Objective:
Heartland Payment Systems is among Inc. magazine's Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies. To continue the fast track on growth, an aggressive revenue goal was set for each state in the "HPS States of America Challenge." Sales teams are striving to meet their goal at the earliest possible date, not at the end of the challenge in December 2004.

Results:
The sales teams are very motivated to be one of the first to finish ... and nobody wants to be last.  The Montana sales team was the first state to meet their goal at the end of March 2003.  The CEO flew to the capital of Montana and recognized each team member with their Gold Medallion Award Spinner. Both company and community recognition occurred, since the presentation was made on the Statehouse steps with key political figures in attendance.

Two days later, Nevada became the second sales team to meet their goal. A similar high profile awards presentation was celebrated at the capital of Nevada. Employee excitement is at an all time high and Heartland Payment Systems is immediately reaping the benefits of additional sales revenue.
